Cabbage Pancake

高麗菜煎餅

This cabbage pancake (Okonomiyaki) is a wonderful way to get more vegetables into your diet. It’s easy and simple to make at home! Also cabbage can last in storage for a long time.

Ingredients:

200g (7oz) flat head Cabbage
3 sticks fake crab meat
3 tbs diced ham
2 eggs
⅓ cup all purpose flour
2 tbs cornstarch
2 stalk green onions
1 tbs white sesame

Seasoning:

⅓ tsp salt
1 tsp soy sauce
⅓ tsp chicken bouillon
a dash of white pepper

Toppings:

bonito flakes
mayonnaise 
Bull-Dog sauce (optional)
dice green onion
white sesame

Method:

  1. Cut flat head cabbage into strips, wash and drain.

  2. Shred fake crab sticks, cut ham into strips and set aside.

  3. In a large bowl with cabbage, add eggs, ham, fake crab meat, cornstarch, all purpose flour, seasoning ingredients and mix well.

  4. In medium high heat, heat up 3 tbs of oil. Spread vegetable mixture to a pancake form. Sprinkle with spring onion and sesame seeds. Cook with lid on for 2-3 minutes, flip pancake and repeat for the other side. Fry until both sides are golden brown. 

To finish, top cabbage pancake with mayo, bonito flakes and some fresh diced spring onion.

Note:

  • You may choose to make different size vegetable pancakes or 1 large pancake. 

  • If you like, drizzle some Bull-Dog sauce onto the pancake for some added taste.

想多吃蔬菜嗎?或者嘗試大阪燒?紹菜煎餅在日本和韓國非常流行,亦很容易在家裡自製,絕對是令你品嘗美味蔬菜的方法。

材料:
高麗菜200克约7安土
蚧柳3條
火腿薑3湯匙
雞蛋2只
麺粉 All Purpose Flour ⅓ 杯
粟粉2湯匙
蔥2條切段
芝麻1湯匙

調味:
鹽1/3茶匙
生抽1茶匙
雞粉1/3茶匙
胡椒粉少許

配料:
芝麻
柴魚片
沙律醬適量
Bull-Dog sauce適量
蔥適量

做法:

  1. 髙麗菜切幼薑,洗浄滴乾水份。

  2. 蚧柳撕成薑,火腿切絲。

  3. 高麗菜放大碗內,加鷄旦,調味料,蚧柳,火腿麺粉,粟粉,撈勻成菜糊。

  4. 燒熱3湯匙油,放入菜糊按平灑上芝麻,加蓋用中火煎約2-3分鐘,煎至金黃色,反轉再煎至金黃色,放上沙律醬,柴魚片,即可上棹供食。

註:

  • 您可以製作不同大小的煎餅或 1 個大煎餅。

  • 如果你喜歡,可以在薄餅淋上一些Bull-Dog醬來增加味道。
